Friends and family enjoy Bridal showers because it is a last chance (along with the bachelorette party) to have time with the Bride while she is still single. The Bride normally has it planned for her and it is not always what she might want it to be.
Quite often there is not a lot of thought that goes into a Bridal shower, it goes along and things happen as they happen. It is a hard time for the Bride though as quite often there is an uncomfortable mix of family and friends, with friends finding it funny to give gifts of shocking panties while the Bride's grandmother is watching. She also needs to know from the Bride whether this is an adult only party or whether people can bring their children along. A lot of people want to be able to totally relax and let go which can not be done of their are babies or children there.
